Planner II (Historic Preservation)
The purpose of this position is to provide advanced technical assistance and analysis related to City planning initiatives, land development applications, and zoning enforcement. This is accomplished by reviewing and processing various land development applications; preparing plans, reports, studies, and analyses pertaining to long-range planning concerns; acting as a zoning enforcement officer for the City; collecting and maintaining current and long-range planning data; assisting the general public; and providing staff support to various boards and commissions as needed.
Hiring salary range: $54,787.20 - $69,825.60, depending on qualifications
Full salary range: $54,787.20 - $84,884.80
FLSA status: Exempt
Continuous - Open until filled
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in historic preservation, architecture, city planning, landscape architecture, or a closely related field (master's degree preferred); and
- Three to five years of related experience.
Special Requirements
- Must possess a valid driver's license issued by North Carolina or another state with an acceptable driving record.
- This position requires attendance at one or more monthly evening meetings.
- Certified Zoning Officer (CZO) certification required within one year of hire.
